  • Summer School Parking at Simonsen

    The Public Works and Planning committee has approved allowing JCPS high school summer school students to use lots 15 and 16 during the month of June at no charge. In addition and of special note, both sides of the 400 - 600 block of McCarty Street (between Adams and Lafayette) provides free, no time limited parking.

    Last fall, concerns pertaining to student behaviors were brought to the attention of the Board of Education. The Board retained legal counsel to conduct a thorough and comprehensive audit of JCPS' board policies pertaining to student discipline.

  • New 10-Block Schedule for 2015-2016

    Students at Simonsen, JCHS & NCC will see a new schedule next school year, providing the opportunity to enroll in more classes. Teachers were able to vote on three new schedules - 83% of teachers at those buildings preferred this option.

    In December 2014, a five- to seven-minute telephone survey was conducted with 400 randomly selected, head-of-household, registered voter patrons in the Jefferson City Public Schools to determine their support or opposition to potential ballot issue ideas, and their associated costs.
